Gary W. Pollack graduated with honors from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey in 1977. He attended the University of Miami School of Law where he excelled in the certified legal intern program with the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office. Mr. Pollack graduated and became a member of the Florida Bar in 1980. He has tried over 200 bench and jury trials in numerous Florida jurisdictions, Wisconsin, Georgia, California, and Tennessee. Mr. Pollack has appeared before the Supreme Court of Florida, reversing the death penalty of a defendant in the "House of Pancakes" murder case, the subject of Gary Provost's novel "Without Mercy.” Articles quoting Mr. Pollack have appeared in the New York Times, Key West Citizen, London International, the Miami Herald, and numerous magazines and online publications.
Mr. Pollack is currently the managing partner of Gary W. Pollack, P.A. and was previously the senior litigation partner in the business law firm of Merrill & Pollack. Brett Pollack, Gary’s son, is the senior associate at Gary W. Pollack, P.A. Gary and Brett are members of the Florida Bar and the Federal Trial Bar. Gary has served on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee and was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court to serve on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. He completed his term as Co-Chairman of the 11th Judicial Circuit Attorney Fee Arbitration Program and then served as the Vice-Chair of the Florida Bar Ethics Committee, where he subsequently chaired several sub-committees on legal ethics topics. He has completed the America Arbitration Association's mediation training course, received certification as an arbitrator by the state of Florida, and is an arbitrator and mediator with FINRA (formerly National Association of Securities Dealers). Mr. Pollack is frequently seated as Arbitration Chair to resolve disputes involving the nation's largest securities brokerage houses.
Mr. Pollack is an accomplished lecturer on the subjects of commercial litigation and fraud. He has lectured before the Florida Collectors Association and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has been privately retained to lecture to the employees of many prominent U.S. corporations, including Milliken and Michaels, one of the largest collection agencies in the United States located in New Orleans. He has also lectured to Dell Computer Corporation in Austin, Texas. Mr. Pollack has taught seminars on collection techniques and credit management throughout the U.S. He has volunteered as a lecturer for the litigation portion of the National Certified Legal Assistant examination to the Dade Association of Legal Assistants and has volunteered as counsel to the Key West Branch of the NAACP.
